The Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA), Cary, N.C., now offers its Elementary Nonwovens Training Course on DVD. More information on the eight-hour course, which covers the basics of nonwovens and is designed for non-technical employees, can be found at www.inda.org/pubs/handbooks/index.html.

Switzerland-based Schoeller Technologies AG has been awarded the 2009 Textile Design Award from the Swiss Textiles & Zumsteg Foundation for its coldblack® Sun Reflector - UV Protector finishing technology. The product was developed through a collaboration with Clariant International, Switzerland.

Supercritical Fluid Technologies Inc. (SFT), Newark, Del., has debuted the SFT-100XW Supercritical Fluid Extraction processing system for performing extractions in supercritical fluids. SFT also now offers a Data Acquisition Package (DAP) option for its SFT Phase Monitor II instrument. The DAP produces real-time image and data capture directly to a personal computer.

Research and Markets Ltd., Ireland, has released "Sustainable Textiles: Life Cycle and Environmental Impact"; "Trends in US Textile and Clothing Imports," 2009 Edition; and Woodland Publishing Ltd.'s report titled "Smart Textile Coatings and Laminates."

Israel-based Nilit Ltd. has announced its new Fall/Winter 2011-2012 bodywear and active sportswear trend concepts, which will be published in the Nilit® Bodyfashion Trendbook. The company also has launched its new website, located at www.nilit.com.

Flowery Branch, Ga.-based Avery Dennison RFID has unveiled its new website -- located at www.rfid.averydennison.com -- which offers enhanced customer tools and detailed RFID scenarios.

Manchester, N.H.-based Velcro USA Inc. has launched its new website, located at www.velcro.com.

The Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) is accepting entries for the 2010 Student Screen Printing and Digital Imaging Awards Competition, sponsored by the Fairfax, Va.-based Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA). New York City-based Anvil Knitwear Inc. has launched www.trackmyt.com, an interactive website that tracks the life and environmental impact of a T-shirt from cottonseed to consumer. In other news, Anvil's AnvilOrganic® sport shirt has received the 10,000th Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certificate from The International Oeko-Tex Association, Switzerland.

Atlanta-based Process Control Corp. has introduced the second generation of its Guardian® series batch weigh blender. The upgraded blender has been electrically and mechanically redesigned.

North Attleboro, Mass.-based Mason Box Co. now offers Mason Custom Tooling Boxes -- custom-designed shipping and storage boxes, which can be manufactured with different cushioning types to protect precision tool and components during shipping.

ASTM International, West Conshohocken, Pa., has introduced a new International Standard, ASTM F2733, Specification for Flame Resistant Rainwear for Protection Against Flame Hazards.

Luxembourg-based Pegas Nonwovens SA has been presented Procter & Gamble's Excellence Award for the second time. The award is given to suppliers who perform at a consistently high level.

Canton, Mass.-based Alliance Scale Inc. now offers the Alliance Rice Lake CLS-420 Fork Lift Scale, an NTEP-certified, 5,000-pound fork lift scale that combines lifting, weighing, transfer and data collection functions.

Charlotte-based DAK Americas LLC will raise the price on all of its polyester staple fiber products by 3 cents per pound, effective Jan. 1, 2010. This follows an increase of 3 cents that went into effect December 1.

The Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich., has implemented price increases ranging from 3 to 5 cents per pound for its oxygenated solvents, effective Jan. 1, 2010.
