Kaeser Introduces Dual-Compressor Design HSD Series Compressors
Germany-based Kaeser Kompressoren GmbH has developed the HSD series of rotary screw compressors,
suitable for applications requiring large compressed-air volumes of between 65 and 86 cubic meters
per minute. The units feature two self-contained compressors; high-performance fluid separation; a
PC-based Sigma Control controller; Sigma Profile airend rotors; and an eff1-rated drive motor.
The Sigma Frequency Control (SFC) version features infinitely variable speed control for one of the twin compressors. This feature allows the operator to precisely adjust the power to meet fluctuating compressed air demand.
In addition, a single HSD unit can operate as a complete compressed air installation by providing both base- and peak-load compressor functionality — a feature particularly true of the SFC version.
