Arkema To Represent Zyvex In Europe
Columbus, Ohio-based Zyvex Performance Materials Inc. (ZPM), a developer of nanotechnology for
composite applications, has partnered with France-based chemical company Arkema for the
distribution of ZPM's nano-enhanced liquid epoxy resins in Europe under Arkema's brand name
The new line of high-performance, multi-wall carbon nanotube-strengthened Graphistrength epoxy resins can be used in various composite applications including filament winding, pultrusion, hand lay-up and prepreg processes; with reinforcing fibers and fabrics such as carbon, glass, and aramid; and in adhesive and coating applications. According to the companies, the resins are as simple to process as unfilled epoxy resin and can be cured with an array of curing agents. They will be initially available in bisphenol-A or bisphenol-F, and in the near future will be offered in a tetrafunctional resin system.
"We are delighted to reinforce our partnership with ZPM, who has worked very closely with us over the last years," said Jean-Marc Corpart, Arkema's global Graphistrength business manager. "This arrangement allows us to enlarge our Graphistrength offering with outstanding materials that will be key for the development of new markets."
