Karl Mayer Adds New Models To Multibar, Jacquardtronic® Lace Machinery Ranges
New Multibar Lace machines include the ML 34, which will be available by the beginning of 2012, and the ML 46, which will be available in the second quarter of 2012. Both models feature the string bar concept, KAMCOS® computer platform with Multi Speed, electronic yarn feed and patterning control systems, and the Positive Pattern Beam Drive (PPD) for active pattern yarn feeding. Karl Mayer reports these features enhance machine efficiency as well as the price/performance ratio for the new models. The ML 34 and ML 46 models are available in gauges of E 24 and E 28, have a 134-inch working width, and have a maximum rotational speed of 900 revolutions per minute. Options include possible replacement of the GB2 by two to four pattern guide bars for production of picot bindings or additional inlay laps, and use of one ground guide bar to work another inlay lap.
In addition, on the ML 46 model, it is possible to use four additional pattern guide bars in place of the first of the two rear ground guide bars, allowing production of sophisticated design motifs and placement of wider lace bands next to one another.
In the Jacquardtronic Lace line, the JL 29/1 B, based on the JL 42/1 machine concept but offering a different price/performance ratio, has fewer pattern guide bars but runs at nearly the same maximum rotational speeds for a lower investment cost. The second of the two front ground guide bars may be replaced by two to four pattern guide bars, and the pattern beam positions may be equipped with a PPD, to expand design options. The machine has a 132-inch working width plus 2-inch extension of the tentering selvage, E 24 and E 28 gauges, KAMCOS system, electronically controlled yarn-feeding system and and electronic guide bar drive. According to Karl Mayer, the machine is especially well-suited for efficient elastic and rigid lace band production and also production of lace fabrics with simple, unsophisticated allover designs. The company reports it has recorded buying options already this year.
The JL 83/1 B features the jacquard bar at the rear position, which produces patterns with raised, clearly defined design elements.
