STA Announces Summer Marketing Forum Program

The Southern Textile Association (STA), Gastonia, N.C., has set most of the program for the 2012 STA Summer Marketing Forum, titled "Manufacturing in the Americas — It Works!" The event will take place Tuesday, August 14, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Textile Technology Center, Kimbrell Campus, Belmont, N.C.

Topics for discussion include, among others: "The Routine of Made In America ... Again," presented by Bruce Cochrane, president and CEO, Lincolnton Furniture Co., Lincolnton, N.C.; "The Birth of a Brand," presented by Jim Twining, CEO, Southern Tide LLC, Greenville, S.C.; "Global Trade Outlook," presented by Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Textiles, Gail Strickler, Executive Office of the President, United States Trade Representative, Washington; "The Art of The American Consumer," presented by Denine Woodrow, owner and manager, DP Woodrow & Co. LLC, Charlotte; "New Concepts in Anti-Microbial Fibers For Medical, Military and Consumer Applications," presented by Stephen Foss, chief technology officer, PurThread Technologies Inc., Durham, N.C.; and "The Wrap Up," presented by Mike Todaro, managing director, American Apparel Producers' Network, Atlanta. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with the speakers, after which the meeting will be adjourned.
