Blåkläder Features CORDURA® Denim In X1500 Denim Workwear

Sweden-based workwear brand Blåkläder has introduced the Blåkläder X1500 CORDURA® Denim Trouser, featuring Cordura Denim 3x1 twill 375-grams-per-square-meter fabric comprising an intimate blend of 88-percent cotton and 12-percent high-tenacity Invista T420 nylon 6,6 fiber. Blåkläder and Wichita, Kan.-based Invista's Cordura brand team collaborated with Pakistan-based Artistic Milliners, a vertically integrated provider of premium-quality denim fabrics and garments, to develop the trouser.

According to Invista, the fabric offers four times more abrasion resistance than traditional 100-percent cotton denim, while retaining the natural feel of traditional denim. As such, it is especially suitable for workwear applications, which call for tougher, more durable fabrics than conventional denim applications. The company reports the fabric also features good colorfastness as well as good performance vis-à-vis shrinkage and pilling.

"The high cotton content helps provide an appealingly natural feel to the garment, while the balance of Invista T420 high tenacity nylon 6,6 fiber provides the added strength and durability that distinguishes Cordura brand fabrics," said Cindy McNaull, global Cordura brand and marketing director.

"The Cordura Denim fabric selected by Blåkläder meets the strong market trend for fabrics and garments which blend performance and style," said Fredrik Skarp, COO, Blåkläder, noting the increased performance characteristics of Cordura Denim. "Therefore, wearers can feel confident in the overall fitness for purpose of the new Blåkläder tradesman trouser."
