Invista Introduces New Cordura® Brand Fabrics
Invista, a Wichita, Kan.-based fibers and polymers manufacturer, is introducing a line of Cordura®
Naturalle™ fabrics for workwear applications. The fabrics are based on a full dull nylon 6,6 yarn
construction and offer the look, feel and comfort of natural-fiber-based fabrics along with good
abrasion resistance and tensile and tear strength, the company reports. Invista initially
introduced the fabrics in 2011 for performance activewear, technical outerwear, shell-weight
fabrics and ready-to-wear apparel.
The company also reports that Malaysia-based Penfabric has expanded its Cordura NYCO workwear fabric collection. Cordura NYCO fabrics comprise a blend of 75-percent cotton/25-percent high-strength Invista T420 nylon 6,6 fibers blended in both warp and weft direction, and offer comfort, durability and abrasion resistance. Penfabric's Cordura NYCO collection now includes eight fabrics and is offered in twill and canvas constructions in weights of 245 grams per square meter (g/m2), 325 gm2 and 380 g/m2.
Invista is introducing the new Cordura fabric lines as part of the culmination of Cordura's 45th anniversary celebration.
