Trützschler Acquires SwissTex BCF And Industrial Yarns Business

Germany-based spinning, nonwovens, man-made fibers and card clothing machinery manufacturer Trützschler Group has acquired the bulked continuous filament (BCF) and industrial yarns business of Switzerland-based SwissTex Winterthur AG, which announced in March 2012 that it would undergo a financial and organizational reorganization (See " SwissTex Winterthur To Restructure Operations," TextileWorld.com, March 27, 2012).

The acquisition includes both personnel and intellectual property. Trützschler has renamed the business Trützschler Switzerland AG and will incorporate it into its Trützschler Man-made Fibers business, which also includes the Fleissner brand of polyethylene terephthalate and carbon fiber processing lines.

Trützschler Switzerland will continue to offer spare parts, upgrades and customized systems for processing BCF and technical yarns. Plans call for further development of the business as part of Trützschler Man-made Fibers, and for further improvement and expansion of its customer and supplier relations.

Dalton, Ga.-based PrimeTex Technology LLC, founded in 2007 to provide parts, equipment and services for SwissTex's customers in the United States and Canada, going forward will represent Trützschler Switzerland in that capacity, according to Elichai Hoenig, PrimeTex's president and CEO.
