Burlington And Tarrent Apparel Plan Joint Venture

Burlington Industries Inc., Greensboro, N.C., and Tarrent Apparel Group recently announced that they have signed a letter of intent to form a 50/50 joint venture company, to be named TABU Apparel Services, that will provide garment manufacturing services for the branded casualwear market.TABU will provide denim jeans, khaki twill pants and other casualwear products to branded apparel customers. Burlington will be the marketing and product development partner as well as the supply source for denim fabrics, and Tarrent will be the production management partner and the supply source for khaki twill fabrics.According to the companies, garments will be assembled and finished in various facilities in Mexico, using a combination of independent contractors plus garment-making assets contributed by both partners.
