ATMA And Textile Hall Announce Next TISSEC

The American Textile Machinery Association (ATMA) and Textile Hall Corp. will continue their sponsorship of a textile industry supplies and services event. The show, formally known as TISSEC (Textile Industry SuppliesandServices Exhibition and Conference), is scheduled for October 19-21, 1999, at the Palmetto Expo Center, Greenville, S.C. The event name has been shortened to Textile SuppliesandServices Expo. The 1999 show will feature a wide range of supplies and services including textile parts and accessories, hardware and software solutions, material handling and plant maintenance equipment, business and financial services, chemicals, packaging and shipping, services, transportation services, safety equipment, environmental management and instrumentation for process monitoring.Organizers hope that by expanding the scope of the event, industry attendance will be higher and more diverse.J. Robert Ellis, president and CEO of Textile Hall Corp., said: "We were encouraged by very positive reports in the trade press and by the results of a survey of attendees following TISSECA '98. In addition, we were pleased by the strong support we received from industry leaders who encouraged us to improve and continue the show due to the value of the show in bringing the industry and its suppliers together."ATMA President Richard Craig, president and chief operating officer of A.B. Carter Inc., added: "While our first effort was weakly attended, surveys of those who were there provided very strong support for the concept. We believe revised marketing to exhibitors and visitors alike will enhance participation."And, there are indications that several textile and supplies associations will affiliate with the event by conveing meetings or conferences for their members and constituents during the three days. With these modifications and enhancements, we see potential to dramatically increase attendance."The Textiles SuppliesandServices Expo is being endorsed by the American Textile Manufacturers Institute (ATMI), who will play an active role in working to make the event a success.
