StarWeb Filtration Media Receives Media Award

Reemay Inc.s StarWeb filtration media recently received the 1998 Engineering Merit Award from the American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS Society) during the societys annual meeting in Boston.Judged by a panel of experts from the AFS Society, the Engineering Merit Award is one of two awards the society gives annually to recognize the development and marketing of new filtration products. Reemay, Old Hickory, Tenn., is a member of BBA Nonwovens.StarWeb is a 100-percent Reemay® polyester composite media, developed to fill a need for a composite substrate. It is only partially bonded, so copolymer fibers are available for binding. According to the company, this makes it excellent for use not only as a substrate in composites, but also as feedstock in needlefelts.
