Burlington Appoints McGregor President And COO

Burlington Industries Inc., Greensboro, N.C., has appointed Douglas J. McGregor president and COO of the corporation. McGregor will assume operational responsibilities currently divided between George W. Henderson, III, Burlington’s chairman and CEO, and Vice Chairman Abe Stenberg, who is retiring in December. McGregor will be elected to the Board of Directors in July.

McGregor, 58, was formerly chairman and CEO of M. A. Hanna Co., an international specialty polymers company focused in the global plastic and rubber industries. He joined M. A. Hanna in 1988, serving successively as executive vice president, operations; president and COO; and chairman and CEO. Previously, he was employed for 15 years with Rockwell International, serving his last four years there as president of the Light Vehicles Components Group. Prior to Rockwell, he was employed with Ford Motor Co. for 10 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Vulcan Materials and KeyCorp.

McGregor, a native of Detroit, holds a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Eastern Michigan University.
