Knitting Machine Manufacturers Pull Out Of ITMA 2003

2002Manufacturers of flat and circular knitting machines, as well as several complementary machine manufacturers, have decided not to participate in ITMA 2003, which will take place in Birmingham, England. The knitting machine sector will exhibit instead at Milano Fair in 2003.Among the companies involved are: flat knitting machine manufacturers APM, EMM, Protti Fashiontronix, Shima Seiki, Steiger/Zamark, Scomar, Stoll and Universal; circular machine manufacturers Gruppo Lonati, Mayer, Monarch/Vanguard, Memminger Iro, Orizio, Pilotelli, Pailung, Terrot; and complementary machine manufacturers Conti Complett, Exacta and Simet. In announcing the decision, the manufacturers cited market requirements, the inadequacy of ITMA as a knitting exhibition and the exhibitions venue in Birmingham.Organizers within the knitting machine sector are seeking collaboration with the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX), which produces ITMA, to serve the interests of both manufacturers and users of knitting machinery and equipment.
