DuPont Lycra Helps Children With Grant To K I D S

For the second year, DuPont Lycra®, Wilmington, Del., has awarded a $25,000 grant to Kids In Distressed Situations Inc. (K.I.D.S.) to provide new clothes and other necessities to needy children in Delaware.Libby Neuner, marketing segment manager for childrens wear and teens, DuPont Lycra, and Marcia Ranier, DuPont Corporate Communications and Community Affairs, coordinated DuPonts involvement with K.I.D.S.The generosity of DuPont will enable us to positively impact the lives of even more children, said Mark Gelber, president, K.I.D.S. We are not only contributing to their physical well-being, but their emotional well-being as well, by helping children build their self-esteem and sense of self-worth.K.I.D.S. was founded in 1985 by childrens wear industry leaders in response to children victimized in a crisis in Africa. Since then, it has focused its efforts globally, distributing new merchandise valued at over $150 million to over 450 relief organizations.
