Combeau Installs Nonwoven Finishing Line TSG Offers Defend

Combeau Industries, a division of North Wales, Pa.-based TSG Inc., is in the process of installing a second high-speed, wide-width nonwoven finishing line at its Hickory, N.C., plant. The line is expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2002 and will be capable of handling fabric up to 160 inches wide with roll diameters up to 60 inches.This line should expand our well-known wide-width capabilities beyond low viscosity saturation and spray application of light- to mediumweight nonwoven webs used primarily in the medical, hygiene and filtration markets, said Ralph Krueger, vice president, new business development.In other company news, TSG and its commission finishing division, Synthetics Finishing, Hickory, offers the Defend family of modified protective coatings for commercial and institutional furnishing fabrics.According to TSG, whenthe finish is applied to fabrics, it imparts protective features, while retaining the original textured, fabric-like surface characteristics. The coating is suitable for a range of fabric constructions, fibers and weights and is available with various performance characteristics.
