Glenro Acquires Bondtex Laminating Technology

Glenro Inc., Paterson, N.J., has acquired Bondtex flatbed laminating technology from Los Angeles-based Textile Systems and Supply. Nick Pourmand, Bondtex developer, has joined Glenro and will design laminating systems and organize trial runs for customer samples.Bondtex can be used for many fabric-laminating applications and can use all three types of dry-laminating adhesives powder, web and film. Jim Alimena, marketing manager, Glenro, stated that Glenro sees the acquisition of the Bondtex laminating technology as a way for Glenro to expand its offerings to textile companies that are trying to add value to their products. Alimena said, Many potential users of this laminating technology are already using Glenros infrared and hot-air heat-processing equipment. Furthermore, many laminating lines require an infrared preheater to prepare the fabric for lamination, and Glenro has been applying infrared to fabric webs for over four decades.
