Trevira Launches New Yarns For Safety Wear

Germany-based Trevira GmbHandCo. KG has introduced new fluorescent orange and yellow spun-dyed filament polyester yarns for use in safety wear. Spun-dyeing techniques are used to add high-visibility dyestuffs to Trevira® filament at the spinning stage. The yarns have high color levelness and good lightfastness. Fabrics made from the yarns comply with EN471, the European standard for high-visibility clothing. The new yarns are suitable for jackets, coats, overalls, suits and other high-visibility clothing. The dyestuffs used do not have harmful effects on the body and conform to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the European standard for the environmentally responsible production of textiles. In addition, the garments can be washed at low temperatures in short cycles, using a minimal amount of detergent.
