Jimtex Announces Location Of New Spinning Plant

Jimtex Announces LocationOf New Spinning PlantJimtex Yarns, an affiliate of Spartanburg, S.C.-based Martex Fiber Southern Corp., has announced plans for a November start-up of its new spinning facility in Lincolnton, Ga. Jimtex expects production at the plant to increase through the end of this year. The manufacturing facility replaces Jimtexs Woodruff, S.C., facility, which was destroyed by fire in March of this year. At 200,000 square feet, the Lincolnton plant is more than twice the size of the Woodruff plant and is located in an area with a trained work force.Of course, were cautious about reopening our plant in this unsettled market, said Martin Zeldin, president, Martex Fiber Southern Corp. But weve seen an increased demand for our recycled yarns. With the new Caribbean Basin trade act, the potential for growth appears to be substantial.November 2001
