Baumer Electric Redesigns Analog Ultrasonic Sensors

Baumer Electric RedesignsAnalog Ultrasonic Sensors

Baumer Electric Ltd., Southington, Conn., has redesigned its line of analog output ultrasonic industrial position sensors used for non-contact distance and level monitoring applications, such as roll diameter measurement and liquid or granulate level detection. The redesigned sensors provide increased accuracy and range capabilities, and have a very small blind region, the company claims. Nickel-plated brass tubular housings or square-body high-impact industrial-grade polyester housings are available. Both designs are IP 67 sealed. The user may select the limits of the sensing range as well as the slope of the analog output, which is invertible. The teach-in button is used to make adjustments, and the multicolored LED indicator allows easy monitoring of settings. Setup configuration is saved on an internal EEPROM. The sensors are available in cable and connector versions.April 2001
