PFG Begins Production Of Heavy-Denier Airbag Fabrics

PFG Begins ProductionOf Heavy-Denier Airbag FeaturesPrecision Fabrics Groups (PFG) Performance Fabrics Division now has the capabilities to produce heavy-denier airbag fabrics. The Greensboro, N.C.-based company is manufacturing fabrics from 210 to 630 denier up to 2.2 meters wide using best-in-class weaving equipment. New weaving technology allows PFG to produce airbag fabrics consistently with low defect levels, according to the company.PFG gained expertise in airbag manufacturing during the mid-1990s, when the company developed the Precision Technology airbag. This experience gave PFG a vast array of technical tools to draw from to solve the most demanding technical issues in safety restraint applications, said Allen Leonard, market manager.April 2002
