Global Production Declines Continue

Global Production Declines ContinueThe International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), Switzerland, reports global yarn production declined 3.0 percent in the third quarter of 2001, due largely to declines in Europe and in North and South America. Global fabric production was down 0.6 percent.Global yarn inventories increased 4.9 percent for the quarter, but fabric inventories declined 1.8 percent. An increase in Asian yarn inventories offset reductions in South America and Europe. February 2002
