2003 Knitting Machinery Exhibition Planned In Milan

2003 Knitting MachineryExhibition Planned In MilanItaly-based Fiera Milano International (FMI), a joint venture between Fiera Milano and Reed Exhibitions, has announced the organization of the International Knitting Machinery Exhibition (IKME), a biennial event to be held at Fiera Milano in Milan. The inaugural exhibition will take place October 16-20, 2003.The impetus behind IKMEs launch is due to what Paolo Taverna, managing director, FMI, described as a [disrupted] balance between the leading countries in the market following changes in the cycle of ITMA that resulted from the decision to hold ITMA 03 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Taverna said major knitting machinery companies from Italy, Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Spain have decided to focus on the market in Italy with a new high-profile exhibition. Bookings have already been received for approximately 87 percent of the available exhibition space. Show organizers have begun marketing IKME to potential visitors, targeting small and medium-sized companies, mainly in Italy but also elsewhere, that use knitting and auxiliary machinery in their production.January 2002
