Springs To Close Aileen Plant

Springs To Close Aileen PlantSprings Industries, Fort Mill, S.C., announced it will consolidate weaving production and close its Aileen Plant in Biscoe, N.C., in April 2002. Approximately 300 associates will be affected.The Aileen Plant, built in 1906, produces fabric for bedding and accessories using older equipment making the plant less competitive than other Springs facilities, according to Bill Easley, president, textile manufacturing.
