TC 2 To Conduct U S Sizing Survey

[TC]2 To ConductU.S. Sizing SurveyU.S. consumers can expect to find better-fitting clothing in the future, thanks to efforts announced by the Cary, N.C.-based Textile/Clothing Technology Corp. ([TC]2). With support from Lands End, Levi StraussandCo., MillikenandCompany, North Carolina State University and other sponsors, [TC]2 is gathering sizing data from 12,000 adult men and women. The National Sizing Survey is the first comprehensive sizing study ever conducted on the U.S. civilian population.[TC]2s white-light-based 3D Body Measurement System will be used to gather data from subjects identified only by such factors as age, gender and ethnic group. The survey results will facilitate establishing apparel sizing scales, automotive and aerospace size/fit/comfort guidelines, and ergonomic furniture and equipment design parameters, as well as provide a body size/shape reference for medical/health-related uses.[TC]2 seeks additional sponsors and participants for the survey. Information is available at www.sizeusa.com. July 2002
