Dyeing Printing & Finishing

TechnoLinear Laser Finishing Technology Imparts Design Effects

Cleveland-based TechnoLines LLC has introduced TechnoLinear, a finishing technology that uses high-wattage lasers to impart design effects on the surfaces of fabrics.Fabric surface modifications such as color change, three-dimensional effects, hand-sanded effects and worn looks are possible using the patented laser-scribing technology. Surface effects vary depending on the laser intensity selected and the substrate being lased. No dyes or chemicals are needed, so the process is environmentally friendly.Design modifications and changes can be made using TechnoLines specially developed touch-screen software. Patterns can be downloaded in seconds, ready for production, according to the company. The technology, currently installed at a customer site in Georgia, can be used on full-width, continuous fabric. Simple patterns can be produced at speeds of more than 25 yards per minute.
