BASF Sells Basofil Business

BASF Corp., Charlotte, has signed an agreement to sell its Basofil® heat- and flame-resistant fibers business to McKinnon-Land-Moran (MLM), also based in Charlotte. All intellectual property, inventories, machinery and equipment related to the Basofil manufacturing operation in Enka, N.C., have been purchased by MLM. The production plant will continue to operate under the new management. MLM announced plans to expand the business into the home furnishings industry.
