ECOfil Introduces High-Temperature Polyolefin
Germany-based Ecofil, L. Kapell GmbH, a subsidiary of Filtec W. Hermanns GmbH, also based in
Germany, has introduced its Temperature Resistant OLefin trOL fibers and yarns to the North
American market. Suitable applications for the product include apparel, as well as industrial
end-uses, such as filtration, where hydrolysis and/or chemical resistance is required. The company
claims the fiber offers all properties associated with standard polypropylene, but with the added
benefit of withstanding continuous-use temperatures of up to 225°F, 80 degrees higher than is
typical for polypropylene.
