Jakob Muller Introduces DIGICOLOR System

Switzerland-based Jakob Muller AG has made available the DIGICOLOR programming system for reproducing photos and illustrations as jacquard weaves. The software is a supplement to Mullers MuCAD pattern software. For image reproduction, a menu-controlled filtering procedure reduces the range of colors to a ten-shade palette. The color palette was predetermined to cut back on storage and production costs. Five to seven colors that best match the image are chosen from the palette.MuCAD software completes the translation and creates the machine file automatically. The entire procedure takes only a few minutes, according to Muller. End-products include textile posters, display materials, wall calendars, sew-ons and badges, and fan and club scarves.
