Schmidt Sells BECA Wrapping Line To Culp Woven Velvets

Schmidt Manufacturing Co. Inc., Greenville, has sold a BECA wrapping machine line to Culp Woven Velvets, Anderson, S.C. The fully automatic equipment, to be installed in July 2003, can completely wrap a roll of fabric in poly film, sealing the bag lengthwise using a thermal seal and the ends using an ultrasonic welding device.

France-based BECA, a manufacturer of packing equipment, poly-bagging machines, inspection tables and conveyor systems, designed and customized the wrapping line according to Culp’s specifications. BECA machinery is equipped with Allen-Bradley PLCs and heads from Branson Ultrasonic Corp. BECA is represented in the United States by Schmidt.
