Western Nonwovens Expands Capacity, Adds Technology

The Board of Directors of Western Nonwovens Inc. (WNI), Los Angeles, has approved additional projects within a major capital spending plan that will direct $8 million at WNI's HiLoft business. The projects focus on improving and expanding the company's thermal bond and resin bond operations. Most recently, upgrades were completed at WNI's Orlando, Fla., facility. Significant renovations will be made to the resin bond operation in Sauget, Ill., and a new thermal bond line will be installed at its Carson, Calif., plant.

In addition, WNI continues to expand its Cerex Advanced Fabrics nylon spunbond operation in Pensacola, Fla.
