FARO, HighRES To Bundle Products

Lake Mary, Fla.-based FARO Technologies Inc. and La Jolla, Calif.-based HighRES Inc. have announced a strategic arrangement whereby the companies will ship certain products together at no additional cost. FARO’s portable coordinate measurement machine (CMM) models Platinum FaroArm®, Titanium FaroArm and Laser Tracker® will now be packaged with HighRES reverse-engineering software modules.

“It’s an ideal addition to our CMMs’ current CAM2 Measure 3.9 software,” said Ken Steffey, FARO software product development manager. “The FARO/HighRES package affords our customers the flexibility to use their existing SolidWorks, Autocad, Mechanical Desktop/ Inventor, Mastercam or CADKEY application with our measurement system.”

FARO also will review proposals from other third-party software companies in order to provide its customers with additional digitizing options.
