Shamrock Presents NanoFLON AquaFLON

Initial testing by Newark, N.J.-based Shamrock Technologies Inc. of its NanoFLON and AquaFLON polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) additives is complete, and the products now are commercially available. Shamrock says both products are suitable for use in performance wear and outdoor fabrics.NanoFLON is designed for melt spinning applications, while AquaFLON is intended for wet processing uses. Attributes imparted to yarns and fabrics by the addition of PTFE include reduced frictional properties and excellent moisture movement ability, according to the company, which also is evaluating other possible benefits.
