WestPoint Stevens Selects NGC Software

West Point, Ga.-based home fashions products marketer WestPoint Stevens Inc. has selected software from New Generation Computing Inc. (NGC), a Miami-based software developer, to streamline global sourcing and production.

The company expects to implement NGC’s e-SPS, a Web-based sourcing and production system; and e-PDM, its product data management module; at its Clemson, S.C., manufacturing facility by the end of the fourth quarter 2004.

“The software will improve our ability to deliver sourced products to our customers on time and on budget,” said David Stone, CIO and senior vice president, information technology, WestPoint Stevens. “We’re impressed with NGC’s track record with major companies and retailers, and are confident that NGC’s products will produce significant returns in a very short period of time.”

Other companies that have implemented e-SPS include: Russell Corp., Atlanta; Kellwood Co., St. Louis; VF Corp., Greensboro, N.C.; Maidenform Inc., Bayonne, N.J.; and Gold Toe Brands Inc., Burlington, N.C.
