Honeywell Set To Boost Spectra® Production
Honeywell, Morris Township, N.J., will invest $20 million to expand production of Spectra® fiber at
its manufacturing site in the Richmond, Va., area. The expansion should be completed during the
second quarter of 2005. High demand for the fiber from the US military for use in armor-related
products spurred the company's investment decision.
"Honeywell is fully dedicated to being the premier supplier of high-performance fibers to the North American armor industry," said Nance K. Dicciani, Ph.D., president and CEO, Honeywell Specialty Materials.
Over the next few years, Honeywell intends to make several additional similar-sized investments to add further capacity.
