NIAC, NIA Merge

Two New York City-based international trading companies — Nissho Iwai American Corp. and Nichimen America Inc. — have merged and formed Sojitz Corp. of America (SCA), a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sojitz Corp.

SCA provides end-to-end global trade management services to a broad range of companies including textile and apparel, chemical, plastics, technology, machinery and others. Apparel companies that use its services include Nike, Columbia Sportswear and Hanna Anderson.

“Unlike 3PLs [third-party logistics suppliers], software and other service providers that focus on portions of the process, Sojitz offers world-class expertise regarding the entire importing and global trade management function,” said Jeff Guettler, director, Sojitz Trade Management Solutions Group.
