J Crew Selects Freeborders' PLM Solution

In an effort to shorten product development process times and enable products to reach store shelves at the right time, J. Crew Inc., New York City, has chosen San Francisco-based product lifecycle management (PLM) developer Freeborders Inc.'s Fabric & Trim solution.

"We recently initiated a new inventory management strategy, part of which demands that we make our fabric sourcing and trim capabilities highly efficient," said Paul Fusco, CIO, J. Crew.

The Web-based Fabric & Trim solution provides such benefits as: aggregation of raw materials across categories, leading to reduced component development time and consolidated price points; shortened decision-making time; improved quality control; streamlined sampling through the solutions on-line Request Center; reduced research and sourcing timeframes using the Fabric & Trim Library; and decreased travel time and related expenses.
