Willis Honored At Retirement Reception

Charlotte-based Stork Prints America Inc. recently honored Copeland Willis, retiring executive vice president and general manager, at a reception celebrating his 34 years with the company. Willis retirement became effective May 1 of this year. Eugene Gene Proffit, formerly vice president, marketing and sales for textiles and graphics, has succeeded Willis as general manager.

"I have been fortunate to have been associated with a company that was a leader in the textile printing industry, not only in printing technology, but also with technology innovations for rotary screen printing and engraving processes," Willis wrote in a letter announcing his retirement. Noting the growth and decline of the US textile printing industry over the years, he added, "Looking ahead, even though the future will be difficult, I believe that there will always be a place for rotary screen printing and eventually digital printing of textiles in the United States."
