ITMEX Americas Organizers Prepare For February Event

The International Textile Machinery Trade Fair (ITMEX Americas), organized by Brazil-based trade show promoter Alcantara Machado, will take place at the 100,000-square-meter Anhembi Park Exhibition Hall in SPaulo, Brazil, Feb. 21-25, 2005. The event the largest such exhibition in Latin America, according to its organizers will run concurrently with NT&TT (nonwovens and technical textiles), Feimaco (sewing machines) and Expolav (laundry machines and services).

The ITMEX executive committee says international exhibitors and visitors registered to date comprise 60 percent of the total. In order to increase global participation, committee representative Ricardo Haydu has traveled far and wide to promote ITMEX Americas and form partnerships. Promotional activities have included a press event at ITMA 2003, Birmingham, England, hosted by Haydu and Marcelo Prado, director, Institute of Industrial Studies and Marketing, Brazil. Partnerships have been formed with organizers of such shows as Colombiatex, Colombia; SPESA Expo, Miami Beach, Fla.; Expofil, Paris; and EXINTEX, Mexico. For NT&TT, the committee formed partnerships with the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, Cary, N.C.; and the European Disposables and Nonwovens Association, Brussels. Haydu also met with Cass Johnson, president of the National Council of Textile Organizations, Washington, and attended ATME-I and the commemorative meeting for the 100th anniversary of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation, Switzerland.
