Uhing RS4 Traverse Drive Provides Backlash-Free Motion

Amacoil Inc., Aston, Pa. - North American distributor for Joachim Uhing KG GmbH and Co., Germany - says Uhing's RS4 traverse drive features specially machined rolling ring bearings that enable backlash-free motion in electronically controlled spooling systems. The drive also features a smooth shaft that slips instead of churning and grinding in case of system overload, and eliminates clogging or jamming from trapped dirt and debris. The RS4 drive nut is available in seven sizes and can be configured for vertical or horizontal travel. Shaft rotational speeds range up to 10,000 rpm, and linear travel speed ranges from 0.5 feet per second (ft/sec) to 4 ft/sec. Axial thrust varies from 22 pounds to 449 pounds.

Amacoil application engineers use proprietary software to help customers choose the appropriate size drive for the specific use. A product video and a brochure offering technical details also are available.
