Jones Apparel Installs UGS' PLM Application

Three apparel divisions of Bristol, Pa.-based Jones Apparel Group Inc. are using the core capabilities of a product lifecycle management (PLM) application from open enterprise solutions provider UGS Corp., Plano, Texas. The company anticipates all of its apparel divisions will be using the PLM application by mid-summer 2006.

Jones Apparel’s PLM application is based on UGS’ Teamcenter applications suite. The application will route and update workflow information, provide easy access to a single data source and support corporate libraries throughout the enterprise, according to Jones Apparel. Additionally, suppliers will be able to access and update information directly, adding speed to the supply chain.

“We believe that PLM will help us transform the way we do business, to compete more effectively as a company and to continue to deliver superior product to our customers,” said Peter Boneparth, president and CEO, Jones Apparel.
