Neumag Acquires Nordson's Fiber Systems Group

Neumag, the Germany-based nonwovens systems business unit of Switzerland-based Saurer AG, has acquired Westlake, Ohio-based Nordson Corp.’s Fiber Systems Group for an undisclosed price.

The Fiber Systems Group, based in Dawsonville, Ga., manufactures nonwoven fiber production systems. According to Nordson, the group’s meltblown technologies will enable Neumag to strengthen its spunbond and composite structures position by integrating the spunbond technology and offering stand-alone meltblown solutions.

“Exiting the fiber systems business will allow Nordson to better concentrate our activities on our other businesses within the Adhesive Dispensing segment, increase investments that will enhance our ability to better serve our customers on a global level and continue to add value for our shareholders,” said Edward P. Campbell, chairman and CEO, Nordson.
