Invista Launches New CoolMax® Fiber

Invista Apparel, Wichita, Kan., has introduced two CoolMax® fibers — Coolmax with Cordura® and Coolmax Nylon Plus.

Coolmax with Cordura combines the traditional moisture-management properties of Coolmax fiber with the durability and abrasion and cut resistance of Cordura fiber. DeFeet® International, Hildebran, N.C., is using the new fiber in its Cloud 9 collection of socks, set to debut at the August Outdoor Retailer Show for Spring 2008.

Coolmax Nylon Plus X6290 combines nylon’s durability and Coolmax’s moisture-management technology in a four-channel polyamide fiber compatible with Lycra® and suitable for such applications as intimates, pantyhose and seamless. It features enhanced color and dyeability, plus an improved hand, dry rate and moisture-wicking properties when compared with standard nylon, according to Invista.
