Hohenstein Institute Opens US Office

The Hohenstein Institute, a Germany-based textile research and testing laboratory with locations worldwide, has opened an office in Elon, N.C., to serve the US market. Hohenstein Institute America Inc., headed by textile industry veteran Samuel B. Moore, will provide product development, testing and certification services and support to US textile product manufacturers, sourcers and retailers.

"As consumers demand more and more from their textile products, a differentiated technical sales story becomes even more critical for success in a competitive marketplace," Moore said. "We will work to understand each customer's desired outcome, develop the best test plan, and then execute it with the customer and the customer's supply chain in a straightforward and cost-effective manner. Everything we do will result in higher product quality and end user satisfaction."

Hohenstein Institute is a founding member of the International Oeko-Tex Association and a provider of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification. It also is certified by the Consumer Products Safety Commission as an independent, third-party laboratory to verify compliance under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.
