PARIS — June 13, 2023 — JEC Forum Italy has been launched by JEC in collaboration with Assocompositi with an important goal: to support a dynamic composites community, fostering meetings between domestic buyers and suppliers and initiating new contacts even beyond the Italian borders. In addition to the professional meetings, JEC and Assocompositi developed a unique program combining technical conferences and business presentations, the Startup Booster competition, and a visit by a major composites company to the region on June 8.
Making connections
Pre-selected suppliers and buyers were able to arrange during the two days both structured professional meetings through the platform provided by JEC and networking opportunities during side activities. Lunches, coffee breaks and, above all, the refined evening event at Palazzo Re Enzo — a real jewel of Bologna’s historical heritage — provided opportunities to perfect interpersonal relationships and combine business activities with good local food, spritzes and outdoor chats. All these opportunities were fully taken advantage of by the participants: in fact, during the two-day event, the 400 participants were able to organize more than 1,000 professional meetings, as well as many more informal gatherings. High-level conferences program
Automotive, Aerospace, and Construction were three of the main thematic areas highlighted in the conference program developed by Assocompositi, with Innovation and Sustainability as the leitmotif of each session. About 20 industry experts discussed the use and benefits of composites in the specific fields of application and how to implement processes and create value with sustainability in mind.

Italian entrepreneurial spirit
Acquiring and promoting innovation is JEC’s primary ambition. The prestigious JEC Composites Startup Booster competition had for the first time an all-Italian edition precisely to highlight the country’s innovative projects in the field of composites. Five finalists were invited to present their projects in front of industry experts and practitioners: Graphene-XT, Hikari, MAch3D, Recarbon and SphereCube.
RECARBON was designated the winner, for giving new value to carbon fibre waste by creating, producing and offering innovative ready-to-use intermediate products based on recycled carbon fiber.

This first edition of the Italy Forum, inspired by two successful editions of the JEC Forums in the DACH region in 2021 and 2022, brought together key players in the composites industry in a very dynamic spirit, demonstrating the commitment of Italian players to develop their markets and hinting at a bright future for the Italian composites community.
