Sustatec® PEEK, a polyetherether ketone material, is available from Sustaplast LP, Edgewood, N.Y.
The PEEK material is offered in three grades unmodified, for high temperature applications;
modified, having a lower coefficient of friction, for high-wear applications; and glass-fiber
reinforced, for applications that require higher mechanical strength and rigidity.The company says
the polymer has excellent temperature resistance up to 300°C and exhibits good mechanical strength
and rigidity, high impact resistance and chemical resistance.
