The North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Textiles, Raleigh, N.C., and the Institute of
Textile Technology (ITT), Charlottesville, Va., have formed an alliance by which they will
consolidate facilities and resources at NCSU’s Centennial Campus. The merger will bring together
the academic research program at the College of Textiles and the applied and industry-directed
research program at ITT, as well as allow coordination of programs and facilities. ITT’s
40,000-volume Roger Milliken Textile Library and the College of Textiles Burlington Library will be
combined.
ITT will retain its independent, non-profit status. The two entities together will pursue
funding for industry-driven research. The alliance is expected to be completed by July of this
year.
